IFFCO & Chhattisgarh Union jointly observe Co-op Week

On the occasion of the 67th All India Cooperative Week, Chhattisgarh State Cooperative Union, Bemetara District Cooperative Union and local office of IFFCO organized a function in Hathadadu in Bemetara district on Wednesday.

The 67th All India Cooperative Week’s theme was ‘Covid Pandemic-Atmanirbhar Bharat- Cooperatives”.

In his presidential address, State Cooperative Union President Jhunmun Gupta said, in our state cooperatives have done a praiseworthy work at the time of lockdown imposed in India due to Covid-19. Co-ops have not only helped the needy peoples with food items but also gave economic help to them. So, I congratulated one and all for their support.

Ravindra Singh Bhatia, Vice-Chairman of State Cooperative Union said, due to the corona pandemic we have faced many challenges in the last few months. Farmers, salaried people and others faced many problems but they did not give up. Bhatai urged the farmers to form a cooperative society with the 10 members, according to a press release.

In his speech Bemetara district cooperative bank former chairman Domendra Bhadiya said the present government in Chhattisgarh led by Bhupesh Baghel is working for the farmers, only then is the government buying paddy for Rs 2500 quintal.

IFFCO’s State Marketing Manager S K Chauhan said, the dung is being used as compost in fields by making compost manure and through this we have worked towards making farmers become self-reliant.

At the end of the cooperative week program, District Cooperative Association Bemetara Manager Somendra Kumar Sahu proposed a vote of thanks.

The objective of the Cooperative Week celebrations is to generate cooperative awareness among the masses. The plan is to highlight the successes and achievements of the cooperative movement, and also chalk out the future strategies for strengthening the cooperative movement in the country.

The week-long celebrations will consist of organizing seminars, workshops, conferences, and various other events to popularize the cooperative model among the youth.
