The Asia-Pacific office of the International Cooperative Alliance (ICA-AP) has lauded the role of the cooperative sector in delivering quality healthcare after its officials visited the Malabar Institute of Medical Sciences (MVR Cancer Centre), an advanced cancer care facility established by Calicut City Service Co-operative Bank Ltd.
Sharing details of the visit on social media, ICA-AP described the centre as a powerful example of how cooperatives can create world-class healthcare infrastructure while strengthening local communities.
The organisation highlighted that the initiative demonstrates the transformative potential of the cooperative model beyond financial services, extending into critical social sectors such as healthcare.
