ICA A-P to hold Forum Meet in Vanuatu

The International Cooperative Alliance-Asia Pacific (ICA-AP) in collaboration with the Vanuatu Government are jointly organizing the ICA-AP Forum on the development of cooperatives in Port Vila from July 5-6, according to Vanuatu Daily Post. Vanuatu is a Pacific island nation located in the South Pacific Ocean.

Preparations are underway to welcome over 20 international representatives from Asia- Pacific region to attend the Forum with their Vanuatu counterparts.

“We are looking at bringing in over 40 chairmen and managers of cooperatives from throughout the country and relevant stakeholders and Government and NGO representatives, to take part in the event to discuss ways how to develop cooperatives in the Pacific Islands”, Registrar Joseph explains.

The newly appointed Minister of Cooperatives, Bob Loughman, has agreed to attend the event and be present also as one of the panelists at the Forum.

Invited guests from the Asia Pacific Region include Ministers of Cooperatives from the Melanesian Spearhead Group as well as Polynesian countries, Australia and New Zealand and Sri Lanka, Philippines, Indonesia and India.
