Himachal CM vows to strengthen co-op movement

Vowing to strengthen the cooperative movement in the state, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has unveiled a new logo of Himachal Pradesh State Cooperative Bank at the Spark-2023 event organized at Shimla on Sunday.

Sukhu also inaugurated the Internet Banking facility and the new website of the Bank. Besides, Sukhu also gave away awards to the best performing branch offices of the Bank.

On the occasion, the bank Chairman Devendra Shyam presented a cheque of Rs 2 crore to the Chief Minister towards the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.

In his speech, Sukhu said that cooperative banks should provide loans under various schemes, which will be guaranteed by the government.

During the event, Sukhu also released the Vision Document prepared by the bank for the upliftment of the cooperatives. The said document talked about providing financial education, promoting PACS as Deposit Mobilizing Agents (DMA) and others. It also talked about the PACS computerization, in which 880 PACS of the state shall be computerized in the first phase.
