Strengthening the cooperative sector, boosting the rural economy and ensuring wider benefits of cooperatives for citizens were the key focus of a meeting held with Bharat Bhushan Bharti, OSD to Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini.
The meeting discussed measures to make the cooperative sector more transparent, effective and result-oriented, with particular emphasis on strengthening the cooperative system at the Primary Agricultural Credit Society (PACS) level.
Participants also deliberated on enhancing the role of cooperative officials, members and grassroots-level functionaries to improve the delivery of cooperative benefits.
Former HARCO Bank Chairman Hukam Chand Bhati and office-bearers of the Haryana CM PACS Association were also present during the discussion. Their suggestions and field-level experiences helped make the deliberations more practical and outcome-oriented.
The participants emphasised that a strong cooperative ecosystem can play a key role in strengthening farmers, rural households and the local economy.
