India’s young cooperator Harsh Sanghani has been re-elected as President of the International Cooperative Alliance (ICA) Youth Committee for the 2026-2030 term, with the announcement coming on Monday during the ongoing ICA Global Conference and General Assembly in Panama City.
Sanghani, the first person of Indian origin to lead the ICA Youth Committee, was the sole candidate for the presidency and was elected unopposed, reflecting the strong confidence of the global cooperative movement in his leadership. The Youth Committee elections were held in Panama.
The ICA Global Conference, themed “Building Bridges: Cooperative Contributions for a Peaceful World”, is currently bringing together cooperative leaders, policymakers and young cooperators from across the world.
During his first term, Sanghani worked to strengthen the Youth Committee as a more active and connected global platform, promoting youth participation, regional cooperation and leadership development.
Sanghani said the renewed mandate reflected the collective achievements of young cooperators worldwide and reaffirmed his commitment to building a more connected, inclusive and innovative cooperative movement.
