Delhi’s largest urban cooperative bank- Kangra Cooperative Bank, led by Laxmi Das, who also serves as President of the National Federation of Urban Cooperative Banks and Credit Societies (NAFCUB), held its 58th Annual General Meeting on Sunday, where members approved a key resolution to incorporate the amended provisions concerning directors’ tenure into the bank’s bye-laws.

During the AGM, shareholders were apprised of the relevant provisions of the Banking Regulation Act, including Section 10A(2A)(i) read with Section 56, as amended by the Banking Laws (Amendment) Act, 2025. Following the discussion, the AGM passed a resolution for incorporating the applicable provisions relating to directors’ tenure into the bank’s bye-laws.

The bank will now submit the resolution and proposed bye-law amendments to the Registrar of Cooperative Societies (RCS), Delhi, for further necessary processing and approval, as applicable.

Under the amended provisions, effective from August 1, 2025, directors who have completed a continuous tenure of 10 years or more on or after that date become ineligible to continue in office, subject to the applicable provisions of the amended law.

Presenting the annual report, CEO Bhushan Kumar said the bank had maintained satisfactory growth despite intense competition, crediting the support of members, guidance of the Board and efforts of employees.

The bank’s financial performance showed improvement across several key parameters. Deposits rose from Rs 1,317.73 crore in 2024-25 to Rs 1,411.22 crore in 2025-26, while advances increased from Rs 763.47 crore to Rs 782.93 crore. Working capital also climbed from Rs 1,485.49 crore to Rs 1,589.39 crore.

The bank recorded a net profit of Rs 8.33 crore, up from Rs 7.64 crore in the previous financial year. Gross NPA improved from 4.30% to 4.10%, while net NPA stood at zero, compared with a negative 0.27% reported for the previous year. The bank’s CRAR strengthened substantially from 13.71% to 16.39%.

The AGM also witnessed the felicitation of meritorious children of shareholders who secured 90% or above marks in their examinations. Each student was presented a cash award of Rs 5,100 in recognition of their academic achievement.

The management also urged members and customers to complete their KYC formalities, cautioning that accounts without updated KYC may face restrictions on transactions in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements.
