As part of the ongoing Cooperative Week celebrations, LINAC–National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) organised a national workshop on Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs), highlighting their growing role in strengthening India’s cooperative ecosystem.
Union Minister of State for Cooperation Krishan Pal Gurjar attended the programme as the chief guest and felicitated high-performing FPOs from different states.
He also presented incentive cheques to the award-winning organisations in recognition of their outstanding contribution to empowering farmers and promoting the cooperative movement.
Addressing the gathering, Gurjar underlined the vital role of FPOs in improving farmers’ incomes, enhancing market access and driving rural economic development. He said strong FPOs are essential to realising the vision of ‘Sahkar Se Samriddhi’ through cooperation, inclusive growth and shared prosperity.
The Minister also commended the National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) for its sustained efforts in promoting and strengthening FPOs across the country, describing the workshop as an important step towards building a more vibrant and self-reliant cooperative sector.
