The Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies (CRCS) has ordered the winding up of Senapati Bapat Multi State Cooperative Credit Society Ltd., Parner, Ahilyanagar, Maharashtra, citing multiple instances of statutory and regulatory non-compliance.
The order, issued on Wednesday by Central Registrar Shiv Pal Singh, follows the society’s failure to comply with a June 2025 order of the Cooperative Ombudsman directing it to pay dues claimed against a depositor’s deposit. The society neither complied with the order nor filed an appeal.
The society also failed to appear before the CRCS during hearings held on October 16, 2025, November 27, 2025 and February 24, 2026. It has not filed its mandatory annual returns for 2024-25 under Section 120 of the Multi-State Co-operative Societies Act, 2002.
The Maharashtra Cooperation Department also reported that the society’s board tenure expired in December 2025. Depositors had additionally filed an FIR against its directors in June 2025.
Following a winding-up notice issued in June, no objections were received from the society.
The CRCS has appointed the Assistant Registrar, Cooperative Societies, Parner, as Liquidator and directed that the liquidation proceedings be completed preferably within three months.
