The Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies (CRCS) has proposed initiating winding-up proceedings against Mumbai-based Moneyedge Multi-State Multipurpose Cooperative Society Ltd., formerly known as Jivan Multi-State Multipurpose Cooperative Society Ltd.
In a notice dated September 2, 2026, issued under Section 86 of the Multi-State Co-operative Societies Act, 2002, CRCS cited the society’s alleged non-compliance with an order of the Cooperative Ombudsman.
The Ombudsman, in an order dated June 17, 2025, had directed the society to pay the amount claimed by a depositor, along with up-to-date interest, within 15 days and submit a compliance report. According to CRCS, the society neither complied with the order nor filed an appeal.
The notice further states that the society failed to appear at hearings held on October 16, November 27, 2025, and February 24, 2026. CRCS also noted that mandatory annual returns under Section 120 had not been submitted.
The society has been given 15 days from uploading/receipt of the notice to submit its representation or objections, failing which further winding-up action may follow.
