Government initiatives under the cooperative sector are benefiting a wide spectrum of stakeholders, from farmers and women to primary societies and individual depositors. Under the national plan to expand the cooperative footprint, 32,802 new multipurpose PACS, dairy and fishery societies have been registered, while 15,793 existing cooperatives have been strengthened.
More than 56 lakh farmers have been onboarded on the e-Samyukti and e-Samridhi portals, enabling assured procurement of crops at minimum support prices.
Women and self-help groups have emerged as major beneficiaries, with Rs 1,355.61 crore disbursed to women’s cooperatives in 2024–25 alone, benefiting over 41 lakh women members. Individual depositors have also gained relief, as the Sahara Refund Portal has released Rs 8,340.75 crore to nearly 39.3 lakh depositors.
At the grassroots level, 52,018 PACS are now delivering Common Service Centre services, while 38,330 have been upgraded as Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samriddhi Kendras. Since its inception in July 2021, the Ministry of Cooperation has rolled out multiple initiatives to deepen the cooperative movement nationwide.
