The Centre has reconstituted the board of the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) for a two-year term, with the Managing Director of the National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Ltd. (NAFED) named as a member of the authority.
The reconstituted board has been notified by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
NAFED’s inclusion is significant given its pivotal role in agricultural marketing, procurement, and the promotion of farm exports across the country.
APEDA, the country’s apex body for promoting exports of agricultural and processed food products, brings together representatives from the Central Government, state agencies, research institutions and key sectoral organisations.
