In a key development, the Cooperative Election Authority (CEA) has approved the election results for 10 out of 11 board seats of Sahakar Taxi Cooperative Limited, marking the successful conclusion of one of the most closely watched cooperative elections in the transport sector.

The CEA has withheld the result of Kribhco MD Sundar Singh, whose name also appears as S.S. Yadav in nomination papers. The authority has sought comments from the Returning Officer (RO) on his eligibility to be nominated as a delegate, citing Rule 19H(5) read with Section 38(3) of the Cooperative Act.

In Class I, where eight seats were up for election, seven directors were elected unopposed, including prominent cooperative leaders- NAFED Chairman Jethabhai Ahir, GCMMF MD Jayen Mehta, NDDB Chairman Meenesh Shah, IFFCO Director Prahlad Singh, NCDC Deputy MD Rohit Gupta, NCEL MD Anupom Kaushik, and Ms. Archana Singh.

From Class III, Ms. Anupama Singh of Uttar Pradesh was elected unopposed. In the Class IV category, where 13 candidates filed nominations for just two seats, Dhara Ballabh from Delhi and Kisan Patani from Gujarat emerged victorious after a competitive race.
