Burdwan farmers await arrival of Nano Urea

Burdwan, known as “food bowl” of West Bengal made history on Wednesday when a truck load of IFFCO Nano Urea was flagged off for the district from the Nano lab based in Kalol, Gujarat.

Billed as a boon for Indian agriculture, a small gathering of about 50 progressive farmers were there at Nimmtala Kishan Mandi, Purbasthali 1 block to witness the event virtually and welcome the arrival of Nano Urea.

The first consignment, flagged off from Kalol on Wednesday. From IFFCO side, the ceremony was attended by IFFCO Chairman B S Nakia, MD Dr U S Awasthi, among others.

West Bengal was represented by its agriculture adviser to CM, Pradeep Majumdar, MIC,ARD Govt of WB, Swapan Debnath, Director of agriculture and S.Patra, among others.

The program was also attended by ADA (ADM) Partha Ghose and sveral influencers of the block panchayat.
