In a significant boost to Bihar’s dairy cooperative sector, the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) has moved a step closer to establishing its office in the state.
NDDB Chairman Meenesh Shah has written to Bihar’s Dairy, Fisheries and Animal Resources Department Secretary Kapil Ashok Shirsat, seeking speedy allotment of land identified near the COMFED campus in Patna for the proposed office.
The development follows a request by the Bihar Government and discussions between NDDB and state officials aimed at strengthening the dairy cooperative movement in the state.
In his letter, Shah said NDDB deeply values the confidence reposed in it by the Bihar Government and appreciates the state’s commitment to enhancing farmers’ incomes and rural development through cooperatives.
He assured that once the land is formally allotted, NDDB will initiate the establishment of the office complex in a time-bound manner. The proposed office is expected to deepen NDDB’s engagement with Bihar and COMFED, while providing fresh momentum to dairy cooperative development and livelihood creation for milk producers across the state.
