The Bihar Government’s Cooperation Department is linking Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) with the National Cooperative Organics Limited (NCOL) to strengthen organic farming and improve farmers’ earnings.
Under the initiative, PACS will help brand and market organic agricultural products, creating better market access and enabling farmers to secure improved prices for their produce. The linkage also aims to ensure guaranteed dividends, providing an additional income opportunity for participating cooperative societies and their members.
The initiative reflects Bihar’s efforts to strengthen the cooperative network and promote organic agriculture through organised marketing and value addition.
By connecting grassroots cooperatives with NCOL, the state aims to help farmers benefit from collective marketing and expand the reach of organic products.
