Cooperative ride-hailing platform Bharat Taxi has expanded its footprint to Chandigarh, launching operations with a robust fleet of over 7,000 vehicles. The rollout includes 5,000 cabs, 1,500 autos, and 500 bike taxis, offering commuters a wide range of affordable mobility options.
The move builds on Bharat Taxi’s growing presence across Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, and Gujarat, where it has steadily scaled its network of drivers, referred to as “Saarthis”, and customers. Operating on a cooperative model, the platform emphasizes fair earnings, shared ownership, and transparent pricing.
With over 5 lakh registered Saarthis and 29 lakh customers nationwide, Bharat Taxi is positioning itself as a people-centric alternative in India’s urban mobility space.
“Chandigarh is a key market for us. Our focus is to deliver reliable service while ensuring Saarthis benefit from the platform’s growth,” said Vivek Pandey.
Backed by major cooperative institutions like NCDC, IFFCO, and NABARD, Bharat Taxi continues to drive its vision of “Sahakar se Samriddhi.”
