The Andhra Pradesh Government has extended its concurrence to the AP State Cooperative Marketing Federation (AP MARKFED) to raise Rs 281 crore through working capital/short-term loans to support Totapuri mango growers under the Market Intervention Scheme (MIS).

The decision, aims to implement the Price Deficiency Payment (PDP) programme in Chittoor, Annamayya, Tirupati and Kadapa districts.

Under the government-approved arrangement, AP MARKFED will mobilise funds to provide a support price for 7.03 lakh metric tonnes of Totapuri mangoes at Rs 4 per kg. The initiative is aimed at providing relief to growers when market prices fall below the desired support level.

The Managing Director of AP MARKFED and the Director of Horticulture & Sericulture have been directed to take necessary action for implementation of the programme.

The state government has also instructed the horticulture department to initiate the process for claiming Government of India assistance/reimbursement after disbursement and ensure timely payment of interest and repayment of the principal amount.

The order was issued with the concurrence of the Andhra Pradesh Finance Department, marking a significant state-backed intervention to support Totapuri mango growers during the 2026-27 marketing season.
