According to Business Standard, Amul will soon challenge Italy in production of premium buffalo mozzarella cheese.
Amul has recently submitted a plan to the govt. of India regarding export of mozzarella cheese made from Indian buffalo milk.
Sources say Mozzarella cheese is one of the products identified by the government for support under its Rs 10,900 crore production-linked incentive scheme (PLI), to boost food processing exports.
Presently, Italy dominates the mozzarella cheese market in the world.
