The election to the Board of Directors of the National Federation of Farmers’ Procurement, Processing & Retailing Cooperative of India (NACOF) concluded smoothly with all 16 directors being elected unopposed.
The outcome largely reflects continuity in the federation’s leadership, as most of the elected directors were members of the outgoing board. However, the election also witnessed the entry of a prominent new face, D.N. Thakur, former National President of Sahakar Bharati and former Joint Managing Director of NCDC, who has been elected as a director for the first time.
The Co-operative Election Authority (CEA) has also given its approval for the election of the office bearers, paving the way for the constitution of the new leadership team.
Apart from D.N. Thakur, the elected directors are Ram Iqbal Singh, Gurumukh Singh Hora, Ranjit Singh, Sunil Kumar, Sanjay Patil, Amit Pratap Singh, Rajbala Verma, Malti Singh, Sanjeev Ratna Singh, Rajeev Singh, Lata Sharma, Ashok Singh, Sushant Kumar Singh, Gauri Shankar Mittal and Surjit Lal.
