The Centre has clarified that NAFEX.in, the digital e-auction platform developed by NAFED, is exclusively meant for the electronic auction of stocks procured under the Price Support Scheme (PSS) and Price Stabilization Fund (PSF) and does not provide for farmer registration or procurement from farmers.

In a written reply in the Lok Sabha, Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Ramnath Thakur said no farmer registration is carried out on the NAFEX portal, including in Tonk and Sawai Madhopur districts of Rajasthan.

Instead, farmers sell their produce through the National Agriculture Market (e-NAM), the government’s pan-India electronic trading platform. The Minister said nine mandis across the two districts have been integrated with e-NAM since its launch in April 2016.

As of June 30, 2026, 2.08 lakh farmers from Tonk and Sawai Madhopur had registered on the platform. The integrated mandis recorded a cumulative trade volume of 18.51 lakh metric tonnes with transactions worth Rs 8,839.71 crore, reflecting the growing adoption of digital agricultural marketing in the region.
