The Registrar of Co-operative Societies, Government of Goa, convened a video conference meeting with Urban Co-operative Banks (UCBs) in the state to deliberate on their onboarding onto the National Urban Co-operative Finance and Development Corporation (NUCFDC).
The meeting focused on familiarising the banks with the objectives and benefits of joining NUCFDC, which has been established to strengthen the urban cooperative banking sector through technology, financial services, capacity building and institutional support.
Officials discussed the onboarding process, eligibility requirements and the role of NUCFDC in enhancing operational efficiency, promoting digital transformation and improving access to modern financial solutions for UCBs.
The Registrar encouraged all eligible Urban Co-operative Banks in Goa to actively participate in the initiative, stating that integration with NUCFDC would help strengthen the cooperative banking ecosystem and improve service delivery to customers.
The meeting forms part of ongoing efforts to modernise the urban cooperative banking sector and align state-level institutions with national cooperative reforms.
