A group of 55 MBA students from Inmantel Institute, Ghaziabad, visited the National Cooperative Union of India (NCUI) in New Delhi on September 28 as part of an educational visit aimed at giving them practical exposure to India’s cooperative movement and its role in the economy.
The students were accompanied by Dr. Mani Kansal, Assistant Dean–Management, and faculty member Nidhi Sharma. Rajeev Sharma, Executive Director of the National Centre for Cooperative Education (NCCE), NCUI, welcomed the students and faculty.
During the introductory session, NCUI Assistant Director Inderpreet Kaur briefed the students on the importance of cooperatives. Rajeev Sharma subsequently made a presentation on the cooperative model in India, its functioning and significance, and NCUI’s role in promoting and strengthening the movement.
The session covered cooperative principles, the contribution of cooperatives to socio-economic development and NCUI’s initiatives in cooperative education, training and awareness.
The visit enabled the MBA students to gain first-hand understanding of how cooperatives function and their relevance to Indian society and the economy. It also highlighted the importance of introducing young management students to the cooperative model and its growing institutional role.
