NAFED is set to become a largely paperless organisation within the next three to four months as part of a major push to professionalise its operations through technology, Managing Director Deepak Agarwal said at the federation’s 69th Annual General Body Meeting at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.
Agarwal said NAFED has introduced an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, which is already operational and is expected to significantly streamline internal processes. The move will reduce dependence on physical records while making various functions faster and more transparent.
The new digital architecture is also expected to improve financial management, with account reconciliation becoming almost immediate rather than involving lengthy manual processes.
Technology is being extended to NAFED’s field operations as well. Its godowns are being geo-tagged to improve monitoring and provide greater clarity about stocks and their movement. The e-Samridhi portal has also been integrated into the federation’s expanding digital ecosystem.
The digital transformation is part of NAFED’s broader effort to become more efficient, professionally managed and future-ready, while strengthening its ability to handle increasingly diverse business operations.
