NAFED is preparing to monetise its idle and underutilised properties as part of a broader strategy to unlock assets and strengthen the federation’s financial position, Managing Director Deepak Agarwal said at the 69th Annual General Body Meeting at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.
Agarwal said NAFED’s properties are being identified and put together in a list as the federation works on a plan to generate value from assets that are currently not contributing adequately to its business.
The initiative is part of NAFED’s wider effort to diversify its revenue sources and build a financially stronger and more sustainable organisation. Rather than allowing valuable properties to remain underutilised, the federation is exploring ways of putting them to productive commercial use.
NAFED is also considering joint ventures with its member cooperative societies for various activities, including the construction and utilisation of godowns. Such partnerships could enable the federation and its members to leverage existing assets while creating additional business opportunities.
