A delegation of Sri Lankan local elected representatives visited the Mulkanoor Cooperative Rural Credit & Marketing Society in Telangana to study its acclaimed cooperative model as part of a 10-day international training programme organised by the National Institute of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj (NIRDPR), Hyderabad, under the sponsorship of the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India.
During the field visit, the delegates interacted with the Society’s leadership and officials to understand its member-centric approach, agricultural initiatives, rural credit operations and community development programmes.
They gained first-hand insights into how the 70-year-old cooperative has empowered farmers, strengthened rural livelihoods and emerged as a benchmark for cooperative-led development.
The visit highlighted Mulkanoor Cooperative Society’s growing global recognition as a model institution, regularly attracting national and international delegations keen to learn from its success.
