The Kerala State Cooperative Bank (Kerala Bank) is set to launch the ‘Gen Z Tech Loan’ scheme to help students purchase laptops and tablets for their educational needs, media reports say.
The scheme will offer loans of up to Rs 1 lakh at an attractive interest rate of 6.99%, repayable over 30 months, with a parent serving as guarantor. Borrowers will also receive a 0.5% concession on educational loans.
The initiative will be formally launched at Kakkanad on July 27. Kerala Bank also reported strong business growth, with total business rising to Rs 1.29 lakh crore and loan disbursals increasing 43% during 2025-26, reflecting its expanding role in supporting education, MSMEs and economic development.
