NCUI: Programme for Chairmen of women co-ops

The NCUI recently organized ”The Leadership Development Training Programme” for Chairmen / Directors of Women Cooperatives in India consisting of 35 participants from Assam, Gulbarga, Karnataka, Sikkim, Madhya Pradesh, Nepal etc from 2 – 4 November, 2015. The prime objective of the programme was to develop their managerial skill for running their cooperative societies professionally and to make them viable. The programme also focused on small business planning and introducing their societies to enhancing the income of their members and improving their satisfaction level by providing them with required services. The other aspects of the programm included providing participants a platform for interaction with their counterparts from all states and thus acquainting them with solutions about problems especially for women cooperatives in India and Nepal.

The programme was Inaugurated by Dr. Dinesh, Chief Executive, NCUI, Dr. V.K. Dubey, Director (NCCE), officials from Government of India and faculty were also present. Dr. Dinesh, Chief Executive, NCUI felt that Women Cooperatives in the recent years are playing a very important role in running cooperative societies as professional bodies.

During deliberations It was felt that women cooperatives could develop the skill based knowledge especially through SHG’s, Micro-Finance, etc. They could make cooperative societies more relevant and responsible for effective functioning, experts and govt. officials felt.

Further, there were discussions about areas like constitution of women cooperative societies & functions of the board of directors, financial interpretations, conducting meetings, preparation of proceedings etc. The participants interacted among themselves on the occasion..

The participants also got knowledge about the latest technologies, responsibilities in the management of cooperative societies & other challenges confronting the women cooperative societies. The programme concluded on 4th November 2015. Ms. Veena Sachdeva, Assistant Director & Course Coordinator proposed a vote of thanks.
