NCUI: NCCE trains women employees of SEWA

The National Centre for Cooperative Education organized an online training programme for creating entrepreneurship among the women leaders and Employees of Sewa Cooperative Gujarat.

The prime objective of training was to create entrepreneurship skills among the women to enable them to establish enterprises in their area’s and increase employment and income. Women comprise 50% of India’s population and are hardworking but due to lack of knowledge and proper guidance, the income of women remains less in comparison to men.

Hence, NCUI organizes a number of training programmes for women co-operators to create awareness and competency for establishing small production units in the rural area on cooperative basis. This will provide the opportunity for self-employment income and social security to women.

The programme was attended by 35 participants from many states across the country i.e Gujarat, M.P and Delhi.

During the training programmes sessions like Planning for Micro Enterprise Professional Management in production units, Record Keeping & Finance Management, Difficulties and Problems and solutions to overcome them were taken by subject experts. Some short films were also screened for practical experience of the participants.

The programme was inaugurated by Dr.V.K.Dubey , ED(NCCE) in his inaugural speech he said that the Government of India has introduced a number of schemes for establishing marginal enterprise in rural areas. The women may commence Agro based Micro enterprise in their villages for self-employment.

The “Sewa” is already working for employment income of generation of women and this training will help in diversification and developing their independent enterprise.

The representative of SEWA informed that many more such programmes are needed for women entrepreneurs. Smt. Sandhya Kapoor, Director (NCCE) coordinated this programme.
