NCUI: NCCE trains women cooperators from North-East

NCCE of National Cooperative Union of India recently organized a three day training course for the upgradation of knowledge and skill of chairpersons and directors of women cooperatives of the country. The programme was attended by 30 elected board of directors from Nagaland from North Eastern Region.

The aim was to refresh and hone their leadership skills by educating them on various aspects of governance like cooperative ideology, conducting meetings, understanding financial statements of a society etc.

In addition sector-specific relevant topics like skill development, use of Information & Technology and social media, role of women in promoting cooperatives, Entrepreneurship Skills & Micro Project Planning and Role of Rashtriya Mahila Kosh in Women Cooperatives were also discussed at length by experts.

While inaugurated the programme Dr. V.K. Dubey, Director (NCCE) stated that women Cooperative are playing important role for economic development of the country especially North Eastern Region women involvement in Cooperative societies are more in generating income for the self-sustainable development.

In his address N. Satyanarayana, Chief Executive, NCUI appreciated the commitment of women. He also urged the participating women cooperators to get an in-depth understanding of all matters related to the management and finances of their cooperatives to be effective as board members.

Lauding the training module the participants stated that this training will definitely enhance their performance. They also wanted to have more such programmes in their respective states in vernacular languages. They also suggested that NCCE may also conduct skill based training programmes in future.
