NCUI: NCCE trains women cooperators

NCCE of National Cooperative Union of India recently organized a three day training course in New Delhi for up-gradation of knowledge and skill of women chairpersons and directors of cooperatives. The aim was to improve especially their managerial skills so that they could better manage their cooperative societies.

The participants also trained about preparing and planning projects to establish micro-enterprises on cooperatives basis to involve more and more women and youth of rural areas in such agricultural activities as may provide them with gainful employment. They also trained about how to handle GST and cashless transactions.

The programme was inaugurated by Dr. V. K. Dubey, Director, NCCE. In his address he said, Women Cooperatives are playing a very positive role in raising the house hold income by their activities. He also said agro-based small processing cooperatives should be run by women in rural areas to work towards doubling farmers’ income by 2022. Dr. Dubey also called upon the youth to associate themselves with the cooperative movement.

In his valedictory remarks, N. Satyanarayana, Chief Executive, NCUI SHGs and coops can help society solve many of its urgent problems. The participants shared their positive remarks about the training program.

Smt. Veena Sachdeva, Asstt. Director, coordinated the program. All participants suggested such programs should frequently be organised to help women cooperators.
