NCUI: NCCE trains fishermen cooperatives

National Centre for Cooperative Education conducted a Leadership Development Programme for Chairmen and Directors of Fishermen’s Cooperatives of India last week in New Delhi for development of their managerial skill.

About 49 participants from different states like U.P., Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Assam, Orissa & Telangana were benefited from this programme, claimed a press release sent by NCCE. The prime objective of the programme is to develop Leadership quality of the participants so that they can provide good governance and professional management of their cooperative society, it added.

The participants were also provided with a platform to interact with each other and discuss the challenges and issues as well as their solutions for proper functioning of cooperative societies. The role and responsibilities of the Board of Directors also came up for discussion. The format was developed in the form of a training capsule for Fisheries sector.

Inaugurating the programmed Dr. Dinesh, Chief Executive of NCUI said fisheries sector is playing important role to provide quality fish food on remunerative price. T.S.Rao, General Manager, KRIBHCO and H.R. Singh, Deputy Manager, KRIBHCO were also present on this occasion.

During the course Sh. B.K. Mishra, Managing Director FISHCOPFED presented an overview of the Fishermen’s Cooperative Movement of India and the relevant topics were discussed by experts and faculties.

Dr. V.K. Dubey, Director, NCCE said that the knowledge gained from the training should be utilized in practical situations for better results. Anant Dubey, Assistant Director, NCCE coordinated the programme successfully.
