NCUI election: Dabas unhappy with slow progress in case

Ashok Dabas, the man who claims to have sacrificed his Governing Council position “fighting for a cause” is not happy with the pace of the progress in the case he filed challenging NCUI election which saw Dr Chandra Pal Singh Yadav and his team reclaiming their positions in the apex cooperative body.

Talking to Indian Cooperative Ashok Dabas said ”the next date is on 30th May and I do not hope much will come out from this as initial formalities are taking a lot of time. There would be formalities of exchanging papers as the lawyer of NCUI had asked for copies of petition I had filed with the Central Registrar.”

The outgoing Central Registrar Raj Singh entrusted the job of arbitration to Mr Krishna Sethi who is said to be well-versed with cooperative matters. Mr Sethi had his first hearing in the second week of May and the second one is slated for May 30.

Readers would recall that Ashok Dabas, the bitten cooperator had filed an election petition challenging the election to the apex cooperative body NCUI held recently in Delhi. He charged that the NCUI election was rigged right from the word go. From the appointment of the election officer to the election of delegates to final election of Directors –all was preplanned, Dabas charged.

Ashok Dabas said Election Officer V P Singh was the personal choice of the outgoing President Chandra Pal Singh Yadav. On the issue of Lakhan Lal Sahu Dabas felt he was delisted from the voter list in a pre-planned manner.

NCUI President Chandra Pal Singh Yadav has dismissed all charges of Dabas point-wise in these columns in his earlier interview given exclusively to the Indian Cooperative. On Dabas approaching Central Registrar with election petition, an unfazed Yadav had said “we knew he will do it.”

The matter is now up for arbitration with the next date falling on 30th May.
