NCCT’s bid to standardize training courses

The Centre for Professional Excellence in Cooperatives (C-PEC) BIRD, Lucknow in collaboration with National Council for Cooperative Training, New Delhi organised 5th All India Conference  of Principals/Directors of Cooperative Training Institutions (CTIs) in the Conference Hall at RICM, Bangalore last week.

The objectives of the Conference was to discuss the Standardisation and Accreditation of Cooperative Training Course being conducted by different CTIs and certification in Training.  All the dignitaries are welcomed by Ms. Shikha, Dy. General Manager, C-PEC, BIRD  and explained the objective of the conference.  Dr.Dinesh, Director General, NCCT, New Delhi, Sri Mohan Kumar Mishra, Secretary, NCCT, New Delhi were honoured by C-PEC.

Dr.D.V. Deshpande, Director, BIRD, Lucknow presided over the conference and launched the website of C-PEC and presented the important features of the website. This website aims at networking among CTIs in India by sharing knowledge resources including best practices, case studies and short term training videos. He said that all the training programmes should lead to the efficiency and good businessmen of the organisation.

Mr. Sunil Chawla, Jt. Director, BIRD have given a detailed account on the steps taken by BIRD for accreditation, increasing the membership and standardisation of cooperative training courses.  Sri P.C.Lenka, Dy.General Manager, H.O.,NABARD, Bangalore briefed about the importance of training under SOFTCOB and benefit of SOFTCOB.

Shri R. Krishnamurthy, Consultant (GIZ) Germany explained the activities and latest developments done by C-PEC  in last 3 years and emphasised as networking between NCCT and its training units with Agricultural Cooperative Staff Training Institute.

He also emphasized the CTI to utilize the training facilities of C-PEC.  Dr.D.V. Deshpande, Director, BIRD Lucknow in his presidential address, he pointed out the negativity existing with CTI and gave the suggestions to remove negativity and think positively for the growth of training under CTI.  He advised all CTIs to use the launched website, so that the cooperative information may be shared among all CTIs.

Dr. Dinesh, Director General, NCCT, New Delhi emphasized the necessity of professionalization in Cooperative Institutions through C-PEC.Mohan Kumar Mishra, Secretary, NCCT, New Delhi in his keynote address emphasized the importance of case studies and success stories in training.

He advised all the Faculty Members to prepare a good case study and to present in all training classes.  He also asked all RICMs/ICMs to design and prepare the course material as suggested by BIRD.   He further emphasized for evaluation and impact study of C-PEC BIRD since this Institution has already completed five year period.

He demand that C-PEC Certificate Trainers should be given financial incentive and preferential  treatment in the career/promotion by the State Government and Cooperative Institutions.

All the delegates and dignitaries have agreed to standardize important cooperative training courses and training material in a suitable form, so that all the trainees will get complete benefit.
