NCCT displayed remarkable resilience in 2015

NCCT-the training arm of apex cooperative body in the country NCUI exceeded its own target in cooperative training and trained more than fifty thousand participants against a target of forty thousand – a jump of ten thousand in the year 2014-15.

The Council through its network comprising VAMNICOM, Pune, National Institute, 5 Regional Institutes of cooperative management, and 14 Institutes of Cooperative management has been catering to the needs of the cooperative personnel as well as other allied organisations.

All the RICMs/ICMs of NCCT are accredited with C-PEC, BIRD, Lucknow. The overall performance of NCCT during the year 2014-15 has been good, say NCUI sources.

A National Conference on Strengthening of Cooperative Education and Training System in India was organized by NCCT in collaboration with Department of Agriculture & Cooperation, Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India on 20th January, 2015 at New Delhi. The Conference was inaugurated by Shri Radha Mohan Singh, Union Minister for Agriculture, Government of India.

The Conference had thread-bare discussion on important issues confronting cooperative educations and training, and came up with far-reaching recommendations.

NCCT also organized National Colloquium on Cooperative Training at RICM, Bengaluru, which was second in the series. The Colloquium was inaugurated by Mohanbhai Kalyanjibhai Kundariya, Minister of State for Agriculture, Government of India. The colloquium deliberated on various issues about the systematic approach to training and capacity building for cooperatives.

The 46th Conference of Directors of RICMs/ICMs was organised during the year at IIFM, Bhopal.  The Conference was inaugurated by Dr.Chandrapal Singh Yadav and was attended by Chairmen of Management Committees of RICMs/ICMs, Director General, NCCT, Director VAMNICOM, Directors of RICMs/ICMs and Officers of NCCT.

The 5th All India Conference of Principals/Directors of Cooperative Training Institutes (CTIs) was organised in collaboration with C-PEC BIRD, Lucknow at Bengaluru. The Conference was attended by 38 Principals/ Directors of CTIs i.e  ACSTIs, RICMS/ICMs and other Cooperative Training Institutions.

The NCCT conducted two slots of Train the Trainer Programme for the faculty members of different RICMs/ICMs. The programmes were organised by NCCT in collaboration with ISTD Delhi Chapter.

NCCT conducted 1514 programmes against a target of 1600 programmes-almost reaching its goal by the end of the year.

Researches in the fundamentals and operational aspects and cooperative management as well as Consultancy Projects are undertaken by the VAMNICOM, RICMs/ICMs.  During the year 2014-15, 22 Research Projects and 208 case studies were undertaken by the units of NCCT.

The NCCT is in the process of signing of MoU with the Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development (RGNIYD), Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu, and an Institute of National Importance by Act of Parliament under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India for conduction of Higher Diploma in Cooperative Management (HDCM), the core programme of NCCT under their recognition.  The signing of MoU will enable the units of NCCT to conduct HDCM the core programme of NCCT under the recognition of RGNIYD.

Similarly, the NCCT is also in the process of signing of MoU with Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India Ltd (TRIFED) under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India for undertaking joint initiatives such as Research Studies, Training and other related activities for promotion of entrepreneurship, business skill of tribal cooperatives.
