NCCE develops training capsule for fisheries co-ops

The Board of Directors as well as policy makers of Fishermen’s Cooperative Societies from across the states of the country were trained last week at NCUI headquarters in Delhi.

In the backdrop of govt bid to double farmers’ income through agri-related activities NCCE- the education arm of the apex cooperative body tailored the programme with a objective to develop managerial skill of beneficiaries.

Close to 26 participants from different states participated in this programme. The participants were also provided with a platform to interact with each other and discuss the challenges and issues and their solutions for proper functioning of cooperatives.

The communication & Leadership Skills for Board of Directors are very important to achieve the targets and providing satisfactory services to the members. Therefore, this programme was planned as a training capsule for cooperative fishery sector.

Those present at the inauguration of the Programme included N Satyanarayana, President, DFCS, Mehboobnagar, Telangana, S.S. Mahhour, DD, FISHCOFED and D. K. Chaudhary, AD, FISHCOFED.

In his speech NCUI Chief Executive Satyanarayana said that the Cooperative Fishery Sector is playing very important role for the development of the weaker section. Lecturers participating in the programme discussed issues like Cooperative Philosophy, Principles & Values, Role of FISHCOFED – for development of Fisheries Cooperatives, Insurance Schemes for Fisheries Cooperatives, Types and styles of Cooperative Leadership, Qualities and Functions of Effective Cooperative Leadership, Roles and Responsibilities of Board of Directors.

Schemes and Policies of NCDC for Development of Fishermen’s Cooperatives, Maintenance of Books of Accounts and Records in Cooperative Society were also discussed.

Rajeev Sharma, Deputy Director, NCCE coordinated the programme successfully.
