Let my performance speak :Dinesh

“you risk displeasing many if you try to stop the rot in a system ”, said Dr Dinesh Chief Executive of NCUI while rebutting charges leveled against him. “What I insist is let my work instead of me do the talking”, he added.

Dr Dinesh’s extended tenure is coming to end in April and his fate is in limbo as Chandra Pal Singh who has been authorized by the Governing Council to take a final call is evasive on the issue.

It was in my tenure that Vamnicom got the recognition of its PG programme as MBA. Now a pass-out from the premier cooperative institution favorably compares with other MBAs of the country, Dinesh said. Not only that in my tenure (2013) Vamnicom generated unprecedented resources to the tune of Rs 1.43 crore, he said.

Referring to the undertaking given for foreign exchange expenditure Dinesh said he was not the first Chief Executive or first foreign traveler to have done so. Everybody on return gives undertaking; go and ask Bhagwati Prasad or for that matter anyone else, he said with a touch of impatience.

This is false and baseless and let a fair inquiry be conducted; this smear campaign has begun in view of my impending extension, blurted Dinesh.

And about vendors I must tell you that those who indulge in silkytalks with them must not be believed. Give me name of a vendor and ask him to stand before me. It is true that I pass bill only when I evaluate the successful completion of the job entrusted to them; this is my job; I do not allow them in my cabin otherwise, Dinesh lambasted the accusations as malicious.

Those who know about University hierarchy know that a Deputy Registrar is second in command in administrative matters. It is at the same pay scale as the CE of NCUI. This was racked up at the time of my appointment in the Ministry. I was cleared of the issue long time back but still the extension jinx is re-inventing it.

I only say whether I get extension or not lies in the future but meanwhile people should not indulge in mudslinging, Dinesh said with a pained expression.
