ICA-(AP) : Venue vacillates awaiting PM’s yes

The Coordination Committee formed to oversee the preparations for ICA-AP Regional Assembly scheduled later this year has decided to reduce the registration fees for Indian delegates.

The meeting which was proponed for a couple of days resolved to bring down the registration fees for Indian participants from 250 dollar to 150 dollar. This was done to attract greater participation, informed Tarun Bhargava, IFFCO representative in the Coordination Committee.

The Committee which has met 12 times so far is still clueless about if the Prime Minister Narendra Modi would grace the occasion. NCUI President and Chairman of Coordination Committee Chandra Pal Singh Yadav has enlisted the support of Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh, Dileep Sanghani and G H Amin for this. But a concrete confirmation from the PMO is still to come.

The most crucial of all-the venues of the international event- is still not final as it awaits confirmation from the Prime Minister. Though we have booked Ashoka Hotel in Delhi but with the PM’s confirmation it could be shifted to Vigyan Bhavan, said one of the Committee members.

”More than 500 cooperators are expected to participate in the event. NCUI sources say the number of foreign delegates could be 250. We are going to meet again in the first week of September should the PM’s confirmation come,” said Bhargava.

Readers would recall that at the request of India, Asia-AP branch of ICA decided to hold its Regional Assembly in N Delhi. The meetings of ICA A-P and the 9th Cooperative Forum are slated for 15-19 November 2016.
