ICA A-P: Finishing touches given on Thursday

The Coordination Committee formed to oversee the preparations for ICA-AP Regional Assembly met Thursday to give the finishing touches to the preparations for the function set to begin next week in Delhi.

NCUI President Chandra Pal Singh Yadav presided over the meeting in which besides his Vice President Bijender Singh, Regional Director of ICA A-P Balu Aiyer participated along with Tarun Bhargava of IFFCO and a host of NCUI officials including CE N Satyanarayan and NCCT Secretary Mohan Mishra.

This was the third time that former IFFCO Director held an expert of international cooperative matters Dr G N Saxena did not take part. NCUI President Yadav had made him a member of the coordination Committee given his vast experience, said a source.

Talking to Indian Cooperative soon after the meeting NCUI CE N Satyanarayan said” we are ready to receive the guests as all the arrangements and the required manpower have been positioned at the key points.

On Wednesday a group of NCUI officials led by Chandra Pal had visited the venue-Hotel Ashoka in upscale New Delhi. They took stock of the situation. There are about 190 rooms for the guests. There are three suites or halls on second floor where the function would take place. On the third floor there are again two lounges and another hall for lunches and meetings.

While inauguration of the 12th Regional Assembly of ICA A-P would be done by Union Minister Radha Mohan Singh, Suresh Prabhu Railway Minister and Dr U S Awasthi, IFFCO MD would address the assembly. ICA A-P Chairman Mr Li Chunsheng would preside over the function. Vote of thanks would be proposed by RD Balu Aiyer.

The issue of mock tail or cocktail for guests also came up for discussion in the coordination committee meeting ; those for cocktail argued that if cocktail is served in cooperative meets in foreign countries why should it be not served in India, said a participant on condition of anonymity.

In the evening there would be a closing ceremony in which state union minister Purshottam Rupala would be the chief guest. It would be followed by a cultural evening and dinner.

The election to ICA A-P is on the next day with NCUI president Chandra Pal Singh throwing his hat in the ring, according to information so far.
