Yashpal Singh Yadav the son of the NCUI President lost Assembly elections from Babina seat in Jhansi by a narrow margin. Rajeev Singh “Parichay”-the BJP candidate was the winner. Yadav was an alliance candidate (SP-Congress).
Yash Pal polled impressive votes and was just marginally behind the winner. He bagged 79876 votes while BJP candidate got 96713 votes- a difference of roughly 16 thousand votes.
In the beginning he trailed by just 700 votes and his supporters still felt he may make up but as the counting progressed the gap kept on widening.
