Co-operation has failed but it must succeed: NAFCUB Prez

By Mukund Abhyankar

Dear friends

Happy New Year!

The co-operative sector of India has a history of more than 100 years but unfortunately it has been neglected by all governments since independence.

Since the first five year plan launched by Pandit Nehru till today co-operation as a sector via-a-vis private & public sectors has not been at all recognized in India. Even today, the sector is waiting for “Acche Din” to come.

But I never lose hopes. My own teacher- a veteran co-operator & thinker- Dr.Dhananjayrao Gadgil had said “Though Co-operation has failed, Co-operation MUST succeed”.

I look forward to 2016 for this to happen. I say the co-operative movement of India has survived through many ups & downs during the past 110 years; so it should and will once again get back its utility and strength.

Happy 2016 to all believers in Co-operation!
