Guyana President Donald R Ramotar who was chief guest at Pravasi Bhartiya Divas held recently in Ganndhinagar in Gujarat has showed keen interest in India’s cooperative movement.
Interestingly, Guyana is a South American country officially called ”the Cooperative Republic of Guyana”. The Guyanese president would visit Valsad as suggested by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to see a cooperative working in the field of sugarcane production.
The latter is one of the leading economic operations in this South American country. Sources say, president Ramotar will explore information and knowledge about ideas and facilities designed to create the cooperative movement in India.
Guyana is one of the poorest countries in South America with a huge population with Indian heritage.
