KRIBHCO bags Swacchata Sewa Award

The Swacchata Award was conferred on KRIBHCO the leading fertiliser cooperative on the occasion of the third anniversary of Swacch Bharat Mission in a programme held at Vigyan Bhawan in Delhi on Monday.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with a host of union ministers addressed the audience on the occasion. The top cooperative officials- Kribhco MD N Sambasivarao and its Marketing Director V S Sirohi could be spotted sitting in audience.

A whatsapp message sent by the fertilizer co-op read” KRIBHCO is being given Swachhata hi Seva award. Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi shall give the awards at Vigyan Bhawan today on 2nd October 2017. Our MD Shri NS Rao and Marketing Director VS Sirohi will receive the coveted award. The function will be telecast live on most of the channels at 11:00 hrs onwards on 2nd of October.”

KRIBHCO was chosen among the companies category for marketing the highest quantity of 22,768 tonnes of compost during 2016-17, reports UNI. KRIBHCO was honoured for leading in marketing of compost made from municipal solid waste.

The ministry felicitated 20 individuals and agencies in seven categories for their significant contributions towards furthering the Clean India campaign in urban areas.

Speaking on the occasion, Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, lauded the contributions of eminent personalities and groups towards “Swachhta Hi Seva”. The nation-wide sanitation campaign “Swachhta Hi Seva” started from 15th September reaching a finale on October 2, Gandhi Jayanti.

Several worthies, in a series of tweets, appreciated the Prime Minister for his initiative. These included Anupam Kher, Smt Chanda Kochhar, India Today Group, India TV News, Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, Indian Cricket Team, Akshay Kumar and Sri Sri Ravi Shankar.
