Every man has a size. This is not dependent on his official position or his power. It is innate goodness of man which either attracts people or dispels them. The true size is unfortunately evident most strikingly at one’s death. Surender Jakhar had huge human size as evident at his death. Friends and foes all lined up to say good bye at cremation to the man who may have difference of opinion but no malice.
While IFFCO family is completely stunned by the news and yet to come out of shock, condolences from all over the world has begun to pour in.
Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda: Hooda has expressed grief over the demise of IFFCO Chairman Surender Jakhar. In his condolence message, Hooda recalled his contribution in the field of cooperation. He described it as a personal loss as his family had always shared close relations with the Jakhars. In a separate message, Congress MP Deepender Singh Hooda, too, expressed sympathies for the bereaved family.
Chandra Pal Singh Yadav, President ,NCUI: We have lost a great cooperative leader and it is an irreparable loss to the cooperative movement in India. The entire cooperative family of the country is in deep mourning as here was a leader dedicated to the growth of cooperative movement.
NCUI will soon call a condolence meeting with invitation to all cooperative leaders to pray for the departed soul.
Bijender Singh, Chairman, NAFED: He was a leader par excellence and his sudden demise is ummitigable tragedy for the entire sahkari parivar. He was a grass root leader connected simultaneously to all levels-village, state and national.
He had an international presence too as he tried till last to network the cooperative of the whole world into one family. I pray for the peace of his soul.
