Revival thru’ co-ops: Guarco, Awasthi & Chunsheng in a Webinar

The Managing Director of the world’s largest fertilizer cooperative IFFCO, Dr U S Awasthi would be participating in the ICA Webinar on economy revival post Covid 19 on Wednesday, read a press note from IFFCO. The theme of the webinar is “Post Covid -19 Response of Cooperatives in Asia Pacific Region”.

In a tweet ICA AP notes “ICA-AP, with IKOPIN brings to you a global and regional dialogue on the post #COVID19 response of #coops from #AsiaPacific.” The webinar starts at 17.30 hours, IST on Wednesday, it says.

Besides Awasthi, the ICA’s webinar is expected to be attended by several global cooperative leaders including ICA President Ariel Guarco and President of ICA Asia-Pacific Li Chunsheng. Mr Balu Iyer, RD ICA AP would be the moderator of the program.

Giving details of the subject of the Webinar Dr Awasthi said to Indian Cooperative “We are going to talk on how IFFCO has contributed in bringing awareness among cooperatives and the general public in the wake of the Covid 19 outbreak.”

IFFCO MD said the Webinar would also take up the issue of how to revive the economy. The lockdown has been hard on the vulnerable sections of society and Webinar would also try to search answers for the same, underlined the MD.

It is expected that IFFCO, which has been in the frontline fighting Covid 19 would share its experience with global leaders. “Meeting both its production targets and its marketing off-take despite severe limitations of the lockdown has been IFFCO’s no mean feat”, said an IFFCO official.

It has also distributed masks, sanitizers and other items in its campaign “break the Corona chain” launched at hundreds of places across the country. “Don’t forget we also contributed Rs 25 crore to the PM Cares Fund”, quipped the official.

The list of Speakers in the Webinar includes NCUI, India- Mr N. Satyanaryana, BCCM, Australia- Ms. Melina Morrison, CEO PCC, Philippines- Mr. Gary Leonardo, Chairperson VCA, Vietnam- Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Bao, President ICC, Iran- Mr. Alireza Banaeifar.
