Media, Ministers & Celebs laud IFFCO on brilliant performance

IFFCO’s spectacular performance in the financial year has been a talk of the town as soon as its MD announced the news on social media. Ministers, Celebs & fans lined up on social media to appreciate the IFFCO in general and its spirited MD Dr U S Awasthi in particular.

Humbled by the liberal appreciation in the wake of the spectacular performance, IFFCO MD Dr U S Awasthi expressed his thanks to one and all. “I thank all my friends & well-wishers for their kind words and wishes”, tweeted Awasthi.

“We at the IFFCO keep on working according to the needs of the day i.e. environment, economy, farmers welfare & cooperative rejuvenation. We always look forward to various ways of serving farmers & cooperators better”, Awasthi’s went on.

Besides hundreds of fans, Union Fertilizer Minister Sadanand Gowda congratulated IFFCO saying “Congratulations to IFFCO, a leading fertilizer cooperative body under the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, for brilliantly recording net profit of 20% i.e. Rs 1,005 crore during FY 2019-20 as against Rs 841.58 crore during FY 2018-19.”

Suhel Seth, a public figure and a well-known celebrity, also congratulated IFFCO MD by retweeting his tweet. Seth, who had recently begun writing in Hindi bowing to fans’ pressure wrote in chaste Hindi saying “Sir, IFFCO has progressed well under your leadership. Jai Hind.”

All the major news agencies-PTI, ANI, UNI as well as the TV media including Aaj Tak displayed the news of cooperative titan IFFCO’s performance prominently. Newspapers in print media both business and political which included FE, Hindu, Hindustan, etc covered the news. “Even regional newspapers from J&K, Chhattisgarh and West Bengal displayed the news prominently”, says IFFCO PR Head Harshendra Verdhan Singh.

It bears recall that IFFCO created history by posting the highest ever Production, Sales, Profit and Despatches of fertilisers for the financial year 2019-20. For the first time, IFFCO recorded the highest ever net profit after tax (PAT) at Rs 1,005 crore during the last fiscal year 2019-20.

Despite the difficult & random market and weather conditions, the fertilizer cooperative also posted the highest ever sales of fertilisers for 133 lakh tonnes. IFFCO’s group turnover in FY 19-20 stood at Rs. 57,778 crore which was Rs. 50,908 in 2018-19.

“I am glad that IFFCO could achieve outstanding overall performance for the FY 19-20, which is indeed incredible to accomplish in a year severely affected by global and economic challenges. IFFCO supports Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Vocal for Local’ campaign wholeheartedly”, MD Dr Awasthi said.
