Lauding IFFCO PM congratulates it on Golden Jubilee

Congratulating IFFCO on the occasion of its Golden Jubilee, Prime Minister Narendra Modi appreciated its role in ushering in a new India. “It’s admirable that you are organizing meetings of farmers in different parts of the country and teaching them on the benefits of digitalization and cashless transaction”, read the letter written in Hindi by Prime Minister Modi.

Modi also expressed his happiness at IFFCO’s initiative in producing neem-coated urea. “We launched neem-coated urea in the country and I note with satisfaction IFFCO’s efforts to help us achieve this goal, read the PM’s message.

As always abreast of things, Prime Minister Modi is aware of several initiatives undertaken by IFFCO in recent years. His communication also talks of IFFCO’s bid to coach farmers on modern techniques so that their income rises.

“We have set a target of doubling farmers’ income by 2022 and IFFCO’s efforts to train them into modern techniques will prove useful to this effect”, the letter underlines.

It bears recall that IFFCO’s Managing Director Dr U S Awasthi has been touring India from north to south and from east to west coaching farmers on the issues being mentioned in the Prime Minister’s letter. Indian Cooperative has kept pace with the IFFCO team and has covered most of its meetings.

Awasthi has covered 124 destinations so far. Exactly one year ago-when the celebrations started he had set a target of these 125 destinations. His last destination is going to be Varanasi-the land of Baba Vishwanath and he would cover it coming Monday, said one of his team members.

“He has met 2.5 lakh farmers one on one so far”, added Harshendra Verdhan, media manager at IFFCO.

Prime Minister ended his letter by wishing IFFCO “All the best” for its centenary celebrations which is slated to kick off at Kalol in the first week of November.
