IFFCO relief material brings smiles to Nepal

IFFCO truck that carried the relief materials for the Nepal quake victims reached the affected areas after two days. It was flagged off earlier by Shiv Pal Singh Yadav, Cooperation Minister of Uttar Pradesh in Lucknow.

The relief materials were distributed among the affected families bringing immediate smiles on their faces as could be seen in various photographs posted on Facebook by the PR department of the IFFCO.

IFFCO PR Head Harshendra Vardhan was quick to tweet “IFFCO help to Nepal EarthQuake Victims by its arm IFFCO Kisan Sewa Trust in consultation with Nepal Cooperative Federation. IFFCO Officers took 2days by road to travel in quake affected areas & distributed materials & help.”

Managing Director of IFFCO Dr U S Awasthi also tweeted” #IFFCO team distributing relief materials 2 #NepalEarthquake Victims. True # Cooperative Spirit”.

As reported in these columns earlier each relief packet contained grains, clothes-sarees , dhotis and other essentials that a family would require to sustain itself for a while.

IKST-the Kisan Sewa body of IFFCO was behind this move. It coordinated with Nepal apex cooperative federation in distributing the relief materials. The Nepalese army was also involved in the work of distribution.

Earlier, the global body of cooperatives ICA made an appeal to all to lend a helping hand to the victims, Indian Cooperative had reported.

One of the IKST Board members said IFFCO MD Dr Awasthi personally monitored the process and ensured relief supplies reached victims sooner than later.
