IFFCO receives visiting co-op delegates from China

IFFCO MD Dr US Awasthi and his team welcomed a visiting Chinese delegation to their headquarters in Saket in Delhi this week. The Chinese team comprising of five members was led by Mr Zhang Wangshu, Managing Director of International Cooperation Department of China.

Cooperative leaders from both countries discussed and stressed on the need of greater involvement of world cooperatives in the field of agriculture and more particularly in agri equipment. Readers can recall that in the last IFFCO AGM MD Awasthi had announced venturing into agricultural machinery in a decisive way.

Cooperators of the two countries also felt there is a need to have more business engagements between cooperatives of the two countries as well as among other countries of the world. They singled out agriculture as a field of investment to begin with.

Earlier, the visiting delegation signed MoUs on issues like import of agricultural machinery from China, setting-up joint ventures in India, etc. The delegation also visited states of Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra.

The Chinese cooperators were keen on learning about different agricultural equipment being used in India. They aim to modernize these equipment to the highest level and export them back to India.

Besides, IFFCO MD Dr U S Awasthi, Director Aditya Yadav, Rajendra Pratap Singh, Joint MD Rakesh Kapoor, Arbindo Roy, Mayank Parihar and several other officials of the fertilizer Cooperative were present on the occasion.
