IFFCO: Radadia replaces Patel as the Vice-Chairman

IFFCO has elected Vithalbhai Radadiya, Member of Parliament from Porbandar and one of the senior Directors on its Board as the new Vice-Chairman in the 8th board meeting held in Kolkata this Friday. Radadia is a Director for more than a decade, according to IFFCO sources.

Earlier, on 30th May IFFCO Board said goodbye to N P Patel who had been removed from GUJCOMASOL in Gujarat. His society is said to have failed to conduct elections for many years in row. IFFCO Board had no option but to take a decision on him which was done a day prior to AGM.

IFFCO Managing Director Dr U S Awasthi shared news and photographs on social media “Congratulations to Shri Vithal Bhai Radadiya, MP from #Porbandar & Director on #IFFCO board for his election as new Vice-Chairman of #IFFCO”.

“Shri Vithal Radadiya Elected as new vice chairman #IFFCO by an election process held in board meeting of #IFFCO in #Kolkatta. @narendramodi”, Awasthi wrote in his next tweet.

Talking to Indian Cooperative one of the Directors PremChand Munshi said” the election went off very smoothly as is the tradition of IFFCO. The new Vice Chairman has promised to uphold the core values of IFFCO-serving the farmers of the country soon after his election”, said Munshi.

Indian Cooperative has gathered that there were two set of nominations. In the first one while BS Nakai was proposer, Pramod Kumar Singh was the seconder. In the second set Aditaya Yadav was the seconder, added the source. Returning officer Mr Gemini declared Radadia elected after fulfilling all the required norms, it added. There was just Radadia’s nominations.

On this occasion IFFCO Chairman B.S.Nakai, Managing Director Dr U S Awasthi and other board members greeted Radadiya on his election.

Radadiya a BJP leader was elected five times to the Gujarat Assembly. He is serving his 2nd term in Lok Sabha. Earlier, a Congress man his honeymoon with the party ended when he was not made leaders of Opposition in the state Assembly as promised to him by the High Command.

He joined BJP and became a well-known face in party circles soon. His son is a Minister in the Gujarat Cabinet. Radadia is also connected with Rajkot Bank and is taking active part in IFFCO’s Connect Farmers’ Campaign.
